ADDICTION SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Addiction is a condition where a person engages in a behavior they find rewarding, despite negative consequences. When a person ingests a substance or performs an activity that can be pleasurable, but also causes great pain or problems in their life, they may be suffering from addiction. Common problems can include addictions to gambling, sex, pornography, alcohol, nicotine, prescription medicine, illegal drugs, shopping, eating, video games, and work.
