LEEANN M. HORTON LPCC-S, NCC
LeeAnn Horton is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor working mainly with adolescents and adults. She specializes in trauma and addiction related work, with a passion for healing the wounds of those in the wake of the disease. She also, has experience working with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, sexual identity, trauma, dispositive identity disorder , and PTSD. Her therapeutic style consists of a myriad of theories, with Choice Theory being most prevalent. She believes in using concepts and technique that empower individuals so they can acquire new skill sets while supporting current strengths. She is a certified Brainspotting clinician. Also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Sand Tray therapy. Furthermore, she is the lead author and investigator in a research project at Western Kentucky University studying the effects of Brainspotting on trauma. Ms. Horton received her Masters degree from Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky.
NICOLE YOUNG LCSW, LCADC
Nicole Young is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, who has over 12 years of experience working in Kentucky with a variety of populations. She has experience regarding depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, relationship difficulties, and addiction & recovery. Ms. Young specializes in working with people who have substance related problems, and those who love them, empowering them to live healthier lifestyles. She is an evaluator for the Kentucky Board of Nursing and can provide follow-up care if needed. Ms. Young’s therapeutic approach is psycho-dynamic based and is adaptable to both short- and long-term therapy. She is also trained in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Brainspotting (an effective method for treatment of trauma survivors). Ms. Young received her Masters degree from Smith College in Massachusetts.
Michelle Long – Office Manager
Michelle Long is JTC’s beloved Office Manager and Billing Specialist. She comes from a very eclectic background with a variety of useful experience. Mrs. Long graduated from Glasgow School for Health Occupations in 1993 and has worked as a Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse, Legal Consultant, and MDS Coordinator. She has decades of experience working with the public, and her bright smile and cheery disposition show it. Her role at JTC is large; from scheduling, to managing the therapists, but for you the client, it is to make the financial and insurance hardships as seamless as possible.
Joellen Marion is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Joellen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Eastern Michigan University in 2010. Joellen went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2013. While obtaining her degrees, Joellen continued to work in a variety of settings with a wide range of clients from age 3 and up. Joellen relocated to Bowling Green, KY where she became an independent licensed provider and focused on working with adults with mental health and substance use disorders.
Joellen Marion provides individual, family, couples and group therapy. Joellen is trained to provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Parent Management Training and services the adolescent, and adult populations. Joellen works with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, mood issues, and substance abuse issues.
Paige Flora is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, who has experience working with depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, ADD, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and bipolar disorder. She also has experience working with a variety of populations including individuals, children, adolescents, and families. Mrs. Flora, hopes to gain experience working with veterans who are are suffering from various conditions in their civilian lives. Mrs. Flora thoughtfully customizes her treatment approach to the individuals needs, wants, and life circumstances using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy approaches. Mrs. Flora holds a BS in Psychology and Criminal Justice from University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky. She also holds a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky, and a MA in Addiction Counseling from University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky.
Spenser Sawyers is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Spenser earned his Bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University in 2011, and earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from WKU in 2015. Spenser has worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient hospitalization, mobile, and outpatient therapy. Spenser has worked with a wide range of clients, focused on adults with mental health and substance abuse disorders.
Spenser’s therapeutic approach is primarily Person-Centered, with training and experience in Motivational Interviewing and the Gottman Method for couples. Spenser believes healing is rooted in the therapeutic alliance, creating a safe space for individuals to work through their presenting issues with a nonjudgmental and warm approach. Spenser works with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, LGBTQ-related issues, trauma, and substance abuse. Spenser provides individual and couples therapy, both in-person and via telehealth.
